Position Overview

INNOVA Global is seeking a Helpdesk Technician to join our I.T. team based in our Calgary Alberta location. INNOVA Global is a diverse enterprise with office locations all over the world. This regional diversity and system complexity will allow the successful candidate to be exposed to a variety of challenges unique to a global organization furthering their personal and professional growth.

The successful candidate will be a valued member of the I.T. Team by working along side their colleagues to ensure that incidents are responded to and resolved in a timely and professional manner. While daily support services will be the primary focus, there will be opportunities to work on a variety of projects and other tasks as required.

Basic Qualifications Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in a Computer, Business, or related field preferred;
  • One or more professional certifications would be an asset.

Required Skillset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven research, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills;
  • Effective time-management and prioritization skills;
  • Strong technical and general documentation skills;
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
  • Knowledge of the most common enterprise grade office applications;
  • Knowledge of incident management processes based on ITIL;
  • Exposure to enterprise service desk applications;
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues remotely and independently;
  • A willingness and drive to learn and continually improve your abilities;
  • Exposure in supporting enterprise grade hardware and software platforms would be an asset;
  • Willingness and ability to travel for short periods to our various global offices on rare occasions;
  • Valid passport and driver’s license.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a similar role or position.

Other

  • This role requires the individual to work in an after-hours on call rotation with colleagues.

This regional diversity and system complexity will allow the successful candidate to be exposed to a variety of challenges unique to a global organization furthering their personal and professional growth.

The successful candidate will be a valued member of the I.T. Team by working along side their colleagues to ensure that incidents are responded to and resolved in a timely and professional manner. Daily support services and incident escalation resolution will be a key focus along side involvement in continual improvement projects and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in a Computer, Business, or related field preferred;
    One or more professional certifications or designations relating to the required skills such as; MCSE, MCP, CCNA, VCP, PMP, etc. would be an asset.

Required Skillset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven research, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills;
  • Effective time-management and prioritization skills;
  • Strong technical and general documentation skills;
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
  • Experience working in an IT helpdesk in an enterprise environment;
  • Experience with incident management processes based on ITIL;
  • Ability to troubleshoot advanced and escalated issues remotely and independently;
  • Exposure in supporting enterprise grade hardware and software platforms;
  • Experience in administrating and supporting Microsoft Windows based workstations and associated hardware and software packages;
  • Experience in working with and administrating one or more Microsoft solutions such as; Microsoft Server (2012R2, 2016), SQL Server, SharePoint and SharePoint Server, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365;
  • Experience in working with virtualization systems such as VMWare;
  • Experience working with enterprise backup software such as Veeam;
  • Experience working with enterprise storage area network systems (SANs) by Dell, HPE;
  • General knowledge and/or experience in working with networking concepts (VLAN, WAN, VPN, MPLS, DHCP, DNS, etc.);
  • Knowledge or experience in working with ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion or Epicor would be an asset;
  • Experience with or knowledge of Citrix systems would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of SIP, PRI, and other telephony mediums and related hardware would be an asset;
  • A willingness and drive to learn and continually improve your abilities;
  • Willingness and ability to travel for short periods to our various global offices on rare occasions;
  • Valid passport and driver’s license.
